The Paradores Hotel

Paradores again

Casas Colgadas

Cuenca continued....

That's a hotel now.

I don't know what this is.

Ancient installation.

more cats..

The choir school bed. Like an internet fool, I asked if there was a connection, the man at the desk said that there might be wee-fee at the Lolita lounge.

Cuenca Part TROIS!

Taking in the fresh air.

Chocolate fig!

Tiramisu!

The vegetarian looking thing is actually mashed garlic with salted cod. The tomato thing is pork in a red pepper sauce. Basically all of it is some form of animal product. mmmmmm...

Breakfast of hungover champions.

Cuenca PART deux!

Every street in old Cuenca is like this one, It took me two days to find the main tourist attraction, a footbridge that crosses over the river to the old monastery. It is now a ritzy hotel.

Lots and lots of fireworks!

I'm not sure what this was, but it was loud and bright!

Cuenca!

Stuffed red pepper with a fried quail egg and iceburg lettuce with lots of olive oil

Same as before but grilled octopus, Chipirones, with the same accoutrements..

Hard boiled eggs, peppers, and olives in olive oil and vinagre.

Jamon Serrano with a fried calabaza

Gazpacho delicioso!

Step over reptile lounge, or whatever you are called. At the Taberna el Botijo Bocadillos, you order a glass of wine, it's made here, and you get a plate of something. The tapas increase in interestingness the drunker you get. I got to 4. I wanted to see what 5 was and if I could get to 10. Russian caviar? Sexualized favorz? I dunno... The Solomillo was dEELICIOuS!!!! not pictured.

Pimpinela!

Potatoes in all forms are delicious, obviously. Pop music is bad in most places, The kindness of strangers is pivotal, coffee in Madrid is never bad, even the garbage men are well dressed, a crowd means anything, Nene Cherry was 15 years ahead of her game. Pimpinela was and apparently is still amazing.
